Wayne Miner was born August 17, 1894 in Henry County Mo. to former slaves. He enlisted in the US Army in Kansas City Mo. October 26, 1917. His wife name was Belle Carter Miner, 517 Troost Ave, Kansas City, Mo. No children. He died Nov. 11, 1918 in the Marbache sector, France. He is reported to be one of last Americans killed in World War I. He is buried in St. Mihiel American Cemetery, Thiaucount, France. He was authorized the following awards: Purple Heart, French Fouragere Medal: Victory Medal World War I: Victory Button (Bronze) World War I.
